Thermoplastic Molding Materials

Short Fiber Pellet

TORAYCA™ Pellet is a carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic (CFRTP) specially designed for injection molding.

It is light weight with excellent strength, stiffness, dimensional accuracy and sliding properties.

A number of base resins (PP, PC, ABS, Nylon 6, Nylon 66, Nylon 610, PBT and PPS) are available, so it can be used for various applications including automotive, electric home appliances, sliding parts and sports.

Long Fiber Pellet

Long-carbon-fiber Pellet is a carbon-fiber-reinforced thermoplastic (CFRTP) containing fibers the same length as the pellet.

It has excellent tensile strength, impact resistance and electrical conductivity compared to a short carbon fiber pellet.

A number of base resins (PP, ABS, Nylon 6, Nylon 610 and PPS) are available, so it is ideal for various applications including automotive, electric home appliances and sports.

Bulk Molding Compounds (BMC)

Cetex® thermoplastics composites are available as carbon fiber reinforced chopped bulk molding compounds (BMC) in PPS, PEEK and PEKK resin systems. Available with standard intermediate, or high modulus carbon fiber reinforcements.

Bulk molding compounds are made by chopping Cetex® unidirectional tapes into fiber lengths ranging from 3 to 50 mm (0.25 to 2”). Longer fiber lengths generally provide higher strengths, while shorter fibers allow more complex structural details to be molded into the part.
